Sardines in Olive Oil from Galicia Delicious baby sardines from the coast of Galicia, prepared in Spanish olive oil. <p>Harvested off the coast of Galicia, a region known for its exceptional seafood. Traditional methods are used to producs this all natural product that respect the biological cycles of the species, as well as avoiding harm to other sea creatures. Fished at night, lights are used to attract schools of sardines to the surface, where small nets await to bring them aboard the fishing vessel. Once harvested, the sardines are prepared by hand using old master cannery know-how and then packed with the highest quality ingredients to produce a sardine that is moist, tender, and uncommonly flavorful.</p> <p>Sardines and Bonito Tuna are just like a fine red wine, the longer they mature in the can the more exquisite the flavor. Aficionados often store cases in their cool cellars for months, or even years. The tins often come with a 2-5 year 'best by' date that is mandated by the Spanish government, however if properly stored in cool conditions (a cool cellar or the fridge) their quality will get better with time and last indefinitely.</p> |
