Giovanni Giachi Primolio Olive Oil - 500ml (16.9 fl. oz.) The Giachi family is located in the hills of Mercatale Val di Pesa in the Florentine part of the Chianti Classico zone; the family has been involved in the olive oil trade for generations, concentrating on high quality extra-virgin olive oil. This attention to quality and to reasonable prices has gained international acclaim. Quality olive oil gives richer flavors, is higher in anti-oxidants, and is a perfect alternative to butter. Produced from a blend of Frantoio (60-70%) and Moraiolo (15-20%) olives, plus a small percentage of the Leccino, Maurino, and Pendolino varieties. All olives are hand-picked within the first ten days of November and immediately cold pressed in order to conserve as much as possible the freshness of this early-picked fruit. It is stored in cool spaces and filtered with cotton pads before bottling, in order to avoid vegetal water deposits which would alter and compromise the taste. Their premium olive oils have been produced using this traditional cold press method, earning awards if excellence in many of the world's markets. Reader Reviews Once you taste the finer olive oils, there's no turning back. Primolio is the very first press of a select crop of olives and the taste is exquisite. For those of us who love that strong peppery taste that comes from pure olives, this is the one to try. |
